Deep Fried Beer

From Field and Stream's The Wild Chef:
I sincerely hope the committee that hands out Nobel Prizes in the science fields have taken notice of one Texas chef who recently achieved a gastronomical breakthrough: deep-fried beer.

Just found this tumblr stream (?) that I think most everyone on here will enjoy. Or, at least Brian will, and who cares about the rest of y'all anyway.
I'm Remembering

So much stuff that I had forgotten! Thankfully there are many people out there to help me remember. Even that lame Rose Petal Place cartoon that I was just trying to remember the name of a few days ago.

5 Guys

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is coming to the Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland. I used to eat there a lot in DC. They would serve up their burgers and fries in brown paper bags that after a short drive you could see through because of the grease. Delicious. I seem to remember a franchise requires you open five stores, so hopefully there will be some additional ones in Mississippi as well.

Southern Cuisine

The Auditorium in the old Duling School in Fondren is a great fun place to eat. It's Nathan Glenn's (Basils, Roosters) new place. Check out the web site, too - especially the videos. Good stuff, good food, fun place.

Remember those car commercials (VW?) where all the car parts were taken out and turned into a big domino trick? Well, here's a video of parts of other things (like cake) put together to make a car. I like the honey used for engine oil.

Basil's Belhaven

Nathan Glenn is opening up Basil's Belhaven in the old Brent's Drugs next to the McWynnJitney. It will be like Basil's Downtown and Basil's Fondren for lunch; but it will be full service at night and a great new local hangout.
