Have a happy April Fools Day. Also, if you're in Mississippi's 3rd District - go vote in today's run-off election between Gregg Harper and Charlie Ross. (0) remarks

Allison Whitney sent this e-mail: Chandler and I are expecting again! We're surprised but happy. My due date is Oct. 28th. For those of you doing the math, this makes Jonah and the new little one 17 1/2 months apart :) Love, Alison

If you follow the Jackson City Council, you know about Kenny Stokes. Now there is a blog about him. Here is an interview the JFP did with him. And his recent eloquence involving Sheriff Mac becoming head of JPD ("Hell no, hail to the now, hell naw!")

I've been very busy the past 7 weeks or so. But wanted to be sure y'all saw this from Saturday. Trinity beat Millsaps on a play involving 15 lateral passes for a touchdown.

This is the news from Berlin: An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.
The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday. With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.
The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.
"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch." The spokesman said experts thought the attack may have been linked to the mating season or because the squirrel was ill.

Phillip Wellman, manager of the Mississippi Braves, is serving a 3 game suspension for his beautiful antics at Friday's game against and at Chattanooga. You should watch the video. He rocks. The best part is when he crawls across the infield and grabs the chalk bag, acts like he pulls a grenade pin, and lobs it at the umpire...landing just inches from him. The Clarion Ledger writes: A subdued Wellman told The Clarion-Ledger on Saturday that his actions were triggered by his obligation to stick up for his players, three of whom had previously been ejected. "My job is more than just running the game, it's to protect and defend (my players)," he said.
